There was a time when I felt like I was running everyone else’s life but barely had a moment to breathe in my own. My days were a blur of school and activity runs, grocery trips, work deadlines, and endless little tasks that kept everything moving. I love my daughter more than anything, but somewhere between the alarms, the errands, and the constant “Mom, can you…?” I started to feel invisible — like I’d become the maid, the chauffeur, the planner, the one who kept it all running. Even the things that were meant to be fun and relaxing started to feel like another responsibility that only I was carrying. As if that was all I was anymore to anyone.

It wasn’t that I’d lost myself, I just never had a moment to stop. I couldn’t remember the last time I’d sat down, closed my eyes, and simply breathed without thinking about what needed to be done next. I remember one morning, coffee in hand, realising that if someone else came in to take over the driving or the scheduling, it might not even make a difference - I’d become the background of my own life.
